So you may have asked yourself the following questions
“what can I wear when I just don’t seem to have the body for it?”
” is it possible for clothing to look appealing on me with these lumps and bumps?”
or maybe you have just given up on finding answers and have simply traded your desired style with comfortable clothing that you know doesn’t fully put your personality to justice. Well hopefully my blog post today holds the solution lol 🙂
I have put together different evening looks with your body shape in mind and best of all, you will not break the bank with any of these outfits. 🙂
So lets get down to the nitty gritty and find out where you fit in. 🙂
Inverted triangle Body Shape
Inverted triangle body shape from head to toe
-Average to full bust
The goal when dressing this body shape is to create a more balanced proportional silhouette.
An Evening look for the inverted triangle shape
The wrap dress shown below is the perfect option for this body type. Not only will the v-neckline elongate the torso and accentuate the bust area, the belt will create a cinched in waist making the silhouette appear more balanced and defined. The bell sleeves which widen at the hem will give the illusion of a more volumised hip area.
Complete this polished boho look with a nude clutch bag and heeled sandals and you’ll be good to go.
Rectangle Body Shape
-Symmetrical shoulders & hips
-Muscular arms & legs
If the rectangle body shape is where you fall into, aim to create a more feminine shape by breaking up your silhouette.
An Evening look for the Rectangle shape
The look shown below is great in creating curves and shape on a rectangle silhouette. The top is flowy, sheer ,pleated and panelled and all these individual features will give the illusion of a more volumised curvaceous upper body. The camel toned cigarette trousers will help break apart the straight silhouette and draw attention to the waist area by helping to highlight the belt which brings definition.

The Hour glass body shape
-Symmetrical hips and shoulders
Medium to broad shoulders
The hour glass body shape is often described as the ideal shape as there is a balance between the upper and lower body. The best approach to take when styling this silhouette is to simply flaunt and accentuate your proportional figure.
An Evening look for hour glass shape
For an evening look why not slip into a body con bardot dress that will flatter your balanced proportions. Team the dress with nude heels and a nude clutch bag and you’ll attain a look thats both glamorous and classy.

Apple body shape
small to full bust
-undefined waist & flat rear end
The apple body shape is said to be the most tricky body shape to style, however this doesn’t have to be the case. Your knowledge holds the power here and by knowing the perfect clothing options that will best disguise your problem areas whilst flaunting your assets, you are sure to be a head turner.
An Evening look for the Apple shape
The burgundy shift dress (shown below) is a great option for the apple body shape. The dress will float over your mid section therefore disguising your tummy area, it also has structure which is great in creating the illusion of a more shapely silhouette. The dress ends above the knee so will show off your shapely legs. Team the look with these laced heeled sandals which will lengthen your legs and carry a clutch for added chic factor.
Pear Shaped Body
Pear body shape from head to toe:
-Long slender neck
-small to medium bust
The pear shaped silhouette happens to be the category I fall into :). The best approach in achieving balance would be to downplay the hip area by drawing attention to the upper body by wearing embellished detailed tops/or statement necklaces. The added volume to the upper body will bring an overall balanced body shape.
Evening look for the Pear shape
For the perfect evening look, wear this ruffle bow dress which will give more dimension to your upper body. The dress also softly cinches in at the waist which will accentuate your naturally defined waist area.
